Dinning at your Ristorante![]() 6/25/03
I was walking by and was really hungry. I remember when I walk by the resturant on weekends how packed it is. So I thought it had to be a "hot spot" and the food should be excellent. I'm sorry to say I was very disapointed. First, the service was horrible. The employee's english was poor. And when he rang up my Pizza and beer at the register, it came up as -3.75. Then he pulled out the reciept, re-rang it and it came up to $7.50.??!! I said are you sure that's right? It's just a slice of pizza and beer (I was already suspicious because it didn't look like he knew what he was doing). Then when he told me pizza was 2.50 and beer 5.00, I thought the price was a little steep, but it may be worth it. As I at my meal, it sucked. First, I wasn't comfortable. No matter were I sat in the resturant, I had the A/C on my back and face at full blast. So I went outside where I was more comfortable. As I continued to finish my lunch, I noticed that the pizza was cold (maybe because the A/C is on so high) and the beer was warm. Disapointed with my meal and wasting $7.50, I threw the rest of it away (over half) along with the warm beer and went to McDonalds instead. I too, run my own business and I'm sure you realize that it doesn't matter if you have 5000 customers or 5 customers because if just one is not happy, it's not good. I'm not saying that I won't ever eat there again, maybe it was just a bad day. |
Best pizza in new york![]() 9/24/03
Pomodoro might not have the best decorum or ambiance, but they certainly have the best pizza in new york. Dont get a slice of cheese, it is a waste of you time. Get a slice of the fresh motzurella and tomato pizza, or try their vodka slice. Either way it is the best pizza in NYC. |
GREAT place!!![]() 9/30/03
My girl and I were visiting NY from San Diego and stumbled in to this place. It was incredible. I agree with the advice of going straight for the "fresh mozarella" slice and have a Stella beer and you will be in heaven. We went back twice on our trip. I miss it! |
Family Biased![]() 12/9/03
This was my second time to NY and I had to visit the family rest. Yes, I am biased it my Brother-In Laws place that he bought from his father. It was great being welcomed into an atmosphere that welcomed me without having any clue who I was.
Our party of 8 was seated quickly considering how packed the place was. I have never been a huge fan of NY pizza, but after this trip I was finally taught how it is supposed to be presented. Just wonderful and every bite bursting with flavor, not your ordinary pizza who's taste goes flat after a bite or two.
I only wish I we could pizza like this in the SF Bay Area. |
